Thanks for your posts! They help a lot and I will make sure to be careful when I see the doctor. If I am not comfortable I will get a 2nd opinion. Thanks so much!
None of this sounds like your heart, but be careful of doctors and how they diagnose and treat GERD. There are many problems related to digestion, but the medications to treat them are best taken only for short periods of time if at all. They suppress stomach acid, which forces the stomach to produce more acid which it needs to digest protein and minerals. So you get into a spiral. While anxiety is very hard to treat, there are ways to treat some of the ailments associated with it that involve treating the actual problem, not just the symptoms. With digestive problems that usually means dietary changes and there are natural remedies that often work as well or better than the meds and that don't suppress the digestive system but heal it instead. So take care with this problem, doctors diagnose symptoms but don't have the training to treat the underlying cause.
