Heat in Chest

I was diagnosed with GERD a few months back.  I am suppose to take Prilosec.  I have heat in the upper center of my chest.  Hot to the touch.  I also have a pinching feeling in the upper left side of my chest.  I feel like I have a pinched nerve in my neck as well.  I am 38 yrs old so what worries me is that it could be something with my heart.  It could also be premenopausal.  I do have an appt coming up but until then of course anxiety is kicked up being I'm googling symptoms.  I can't stand being tired and feeling like I just want to lay around.  I keep my teeth clinched for some reason now which keeps my ears hurting...  I do catch myself though.  I don't know what is going on with me and I wish someone could help !

Thanks for your posts!  They help a lot and I will make sure to be careful when I see the doctor.  If I am not comfortable I will get a 2nd opinion.  Thanks so much!

None of this sounds like your heart, but be careful of doctors and how they diagnose and treat GERD.  There are many problems related to digestion, but the medications to treat them are best taken only for short periods of time if at all.  They suppress stomach acid, which forces the stomach to produce more acid which it needs to digest protein and minerals.  So you get into a spiral.  While anxiety is very hard to treat, there are ways to treat some of the ailments associated with it that involve treating the actual problem, not just the symptoms.  With digestive problems that usually means dietary changes and there are natural remedies that often work as well or better than the meds and that don't suppress the digestive system but heal it instead.  So take care with this problem, doctors diagnose symptoms but don't have the training to treat the underlying cause.
