Thnx for the advice I have one more question ...I always have 55 heart beat per min. They. Put me on ECG and they said it is normal and I made tsh also normal. I do no sports and smoker Is that related to anxiety .??? Thnx. Aain
If the ONLY time you feel anxious is when you drink coffee and smoke, the answer seems quite obvious. I personally am a coffee drinker AND a smoker, so I'm no insinuating that it would be easy to quit, but it CAN be done, and certainly if these things are causing anxiety, it would make sense to try! Have a talk with your doctor about ways he can help you with smoking cessation.
As for the meds your doc Rx'd for you...if you are having anxiety issues other than just with coffee and nicotine, then I would tell you to give the meds more time. Meds like Escitalopram can take 4-6 weeks until they really start making a difference. Some people notice some small improvements after about 2 weeks. Don't just stop these meds without talking to your doc first.
Again,if you are anxiety free without coffee and cigarettes, then you should definitely try to rid yourself of those triggers. That would probably all you need!
Yes, talk to your doctor about it... Does not look like you have been on it for a long time but anyway I think you need to talk to your doc about it...
Go back to your Doc. for advice, the meds have not had time to be effective. Stop smoking/drinking coffee ~ no fee!
