That would be a great first step to take and could be what helps occupy your mind rather than the anxiety. Begin looking for a doctor. Talk to them about obsessive compulsive behavior. The obsessive part of this can relate to intrusive thoughts and thinking. And explore general anxiety with them. But focus the energy into finding a doctor to talk to. Every time you begin feeling the anxiety rise, go on your search and make a list of things to talk about with the doctor, list of doctors to call that comply with your insurance, etc. Those actions will help. good luck
When I'm around other people I don't think about it. But when I get alone I start getting on the scale every 5 mins rubbing my neck checking for swollen lymph nodes and always thinking about it to the point where it gives me headaches... I don't have a personal doctor so I think that's out the question for right now... I just want to go back to my normal self
Hi there. Sorry you are having this difficulty. Health anxiety is real. Does it happen at certain times with any pattern to it (that you might start to record and notice if there are things you can change to offset the pattern of building anxiety?)? Look for triggers. Do you suffer anxiety in general or just related to this? would you consider talking to your doctor about the anxiety (not the HIV scare or worries)?
