Hi :) I am not an expert really..but I do have my share of anxiety and panic attacks etc myself.I don't know I am correct but I think that ecxept the medication you should try to find if there is any special reason for your ''nightmares''.I mean, brain is a very strange thing.Maby you have experienced something dramatic as a child or something like this.Have you ever tryed to seek through your past with a psychologist? You know..why supress the problem if you can kill it once and for all.Again I am no expert I am just making thougts.I also had this problem when my axniety was on its peak.I use to see nightmares everynight...waking up screaming, with tachycharida..I thought my body was going to exlode. It is hard to live with those problems I know :( But everyone of us has to believe that there is going to be better days for us...I hope you find your solution :)
Hello my dear,i really am so thankful for what everything you have done to help me.I uas using Mirtazapine since november,i think that was my worst drug i ever tried. So i quit it By cutting doses,of course without knowledge of my psichyatrists who kept telling me to take higher doses. So now i use 2 mg of xanax everytimes i need .
My nightmares doesnt means i see bad dreams,i really dont. While im sleeping so quite,it just comes like a monster, and make me breath difficult, and i cant move even a finger...i feel like im in coma..and i really dont know what to do ...
This life is so miserable for me :'(
Thankyou nursegirl,God bless you,hugs
Hello sweetie, I'm so sorry to see you're still struggling. :0( I often think about you, as you remind me so much of myself in younger days.
Listen, you have anxiety which means that you're going to over think and catastrophize every little thing, that's just what we do. Someone without anxiety may wake up from a nightmare a little upset, but where they differ from us, is they can rationalize it for what it is, just a dream, and move on. Not us...we'll be upset for weeks, causing more stress, which will cause MORE nightmares, which will have us questioning what the dreams REALLY mean. You know?
I know you've tried a whole bunch of treatment approaches with little success, but I think a lot of that is due to you spending a lot of time misdiagnosed and on strange medication regimens. I think by the time you finally got an accurate diagnosis (IMO), you were so burnt out and fed up, that you lost all hope in turning this around.
Remind me again, briefly, what meds you've tried, for how long, and what else you've done to address the anxiety...therapy, etc.
We're here for you.
Hi, medications can bring out more nightmares, are you on any? But the way, remembering nightmares is a good thing as studies show that many with anxiety dont remember them and develops into an unknown fear.
