You were taking a relatively low dose or Gabapentin.  I can see it causing  temporary sleep problems, but cutting that small of a dose shouldn't cause a sharp increase in anxiety.  Sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time.  I would see your doctor and see what he comes up with.

Hello there. I would say continue following the instructions upon your prescription until you see your doctor again. If Prozac has noticably helped you that's good but i do know of other anti-depressants that are more focused on anxiety. If it comes down to it you may ask your doctor about Buspirone and/or Lexapro. I'm sensitive to anti-depressants Lexapro has seemed to help a bit and ive taken Buspirone (Buspar) for 4 days now noticing some improvement. In the mean time i would recommend sensory meditation to you. In doing this it takes your mind off worries and thoughts and allows you to relax and become one with your senses. What you do is close your eyes and breathe deeply through your nose exhaling out your mouth and once your relaxed with the breathing you may just breathe however you feel most comfortable. The breathing oxygenates the brain. As you do this begin to focus on every little thing you hear around you like a clicking clock or your breathing, every little thing you feel including your feet against the ground or your back against the bed/chair, what you taste, smell etc. When you start thinking of something immediately direct your attention to what your feeling or hearing. I'll usually direct myself to feeling my feet against the ground or hear my breathing. This is all done with your eyes closed. It is an exercise to calm the Nervous System. When i open my eyes it seems almost as if i was somewhere else for a little bit and things seem in slow motion for 5 minutes or so. If you find benefit from practicing this you can even do it in public while your waiting for something, or when you park your car before getting out. It can kind of shift you into a different gear. Now what i'll say about the Neurontin, i would defnitely wean off it in like 50mg intervals if your having trouble with it. Make an estimation by taking the powder out if you must. May help if your not taking the Xanax everyday to use it to help you get off the neurontin if you so incline to get off of it. Just use like .25-.5mg to cut the little edge off and then try that meditation. Remember that Xanax is addictive and i'll admit i think i was nearly addicted to it at one point. So you just got to be careful. I wish you the best of luck, Jordan
