Anxiety Symptoms

I suffer from really bad anxiety and had a few questions for anyone who knows about this. I have headaches ALL the time- I mean it is constant, and it seems Tylenol or Advil never helps them. I do not sleep at all at night because I keep myself up worrying myself to death about everything. I've also had very bad diarrhea the past few days and I have it a lot in the mornings.

Can anxiety cause headaches and diarrhea like this? I feel physically healthy otherwise, but the constant headaches and diarrhea are really getting to me and I just feel so drained.

thanks everyone. i really need to go get a check-up at a doctor. i of course am assuming the worst of everything and thinking i have a horrible fatal illness... i really want to take up yoga or something relaxing and hope that helps me.

no, i have never had my magnesium levels checked. what's the reasoning for having them checked and should i have that done?

I too had digestive problems, muscle tension that led to a 3 week headache, leg cramping, twitches mostly in legs (but not constant), sweats, insomnia, loss of appetite, all this led to depression. Not trying to scare you, but let you know that physically, anxiety can wreak havoc on you mind and body. Get help now. Finally a doc told me I had GAD and gave Celexa (SSRI). It didn't work so now I'm trying Remeron. My appetite and sleep habits have improved so far, but I need work on my mucsle tension with excericse and yoga. I have a long way to go, but this all takes time. Hang in there. I wish you the best.

A few months ago I started getting diarrhe all the time, went to the doctors and was told IBS, which can be aggrevated by stress or anxeity. So you end up making your situation worse byt worrying about the sytpoms... I was later diagnosed with lactose anf fructose interlorance which made thinbsg worse. I was prescribed anti depressants and change my diets and systems have cleared up alot, only when I am reall really anxious does the diarrhea come back.

Go to the doctors

Hi
I found when I was at my most anxious I got bouts of IBS and bad headaches all brought on by stress, so it could be anxiety related, if you are really worried see your doctor it never hurts to get a once over even if its just to put your mind at rest.

Anxiety can cause a whole myriad of symptoms in my opinion.  In my experience with this it can and does take a toll on us both mentally and physically.  I used to get 'tension' headaches all the time when I was stressed.  Also, it can really do a number on the digestive system as well.  Have you been to your doctor to ask about it?  Have you been going to or considered counseling?
