That's funny, but I can imagine how horrifying at the time. : (   I read a lot of avalanchblanchs (that's quite a screen name to type) and she's always amusing.  One day, our first cat came home paralyzed on her left side.  We rush her to the vet ER and they stitch up a wound on her tummy and send us home.  I told them of my observation of paralysis, but they saw no sign and sent us home.  Well, she lays out on the floor and doesn't move a muscle for a day so we take her back.  She doesn't act like this in the ER so they send us home again.  Now she collapses on the floor and I see her eyes dilating in and out, in and out.....what?  Call the doc who has seen her twice and he says this is called the "wow-wow" syndrome and there is obviously a brain stem injury!?!  So, long story short, 8 days and $2500 later, we have to put her to sleep.  We decide we want to be there for her.  We have now taken her to our own vet for the euthanasia.  The doctor misses her vein TWICE and she's bleeding and screaming.  It was one of the worst days of our life and I was still crying 6mos later just thinking about all she went through for that week.  My husband can't even talk about it.

So 6mos later we're talking one morning about getting another cat and I tell him we should just wait because maybe another one would come along who needed us.  So that afternoon, I'm in the backyard and I hear "meow meow meow" and I go to the front of the house and some new next door neighbors are moving in and they have a cat!  Right away I could see how sick she was and I told the neighbor, but she never did a thing....too busy.....so we end up taking her to the vet ourselves because she was just about dying in front of our eyes.  She was always at our house because they work 12hr days.  So she ends up having Cryptocaucus (sp?) in her head which is a fungal disease that birds carry.  She smelled bad, eyes were running that had left a crust on her face, but after medicating her for three months with one more month just to be sure, she completely recovered and she is now our baby.

I don't know if that story came out well, but we think that God or whoever is watching over us knew we needed another cat to love and care for and she was sent to us straight from heaven.  We ADORE her and she adores us.  She is so cute and the sweetest cat I've ever met.  We DO NOT like our neighbors, they are loud and annoying when they're home, but we're so thankful they moved here because otherwise we never would have met "Jade".  She's white with a few black markings and the most beautiful jade green eyes you ever saw.
