Hypothyroidism and anxiety

I had a total thyroidechtomy over a year ago.  I haven't done well on Levothyroxine.  For the previous 8 months I was taking generic 137 mcg.  I developed high blood pressure and insomnia with the occasional anxiety.  Two months ago I started taking Tirosint at a lower dose 112.   Blood pressure better but recently have been prone to extreme panic attacks.  They have gotten so bad I have developed agraphobia.    I recently had T4 & T3 checked but are at a normal level.  Is there anything else I can do?

You might also tend to your adrenals.  Most endos don't bother with the adrenals, but they're connected to the thyroid.  Natural practitioners tend to have better solutions to this end of things if there is a problem with the adrenals.  You do need to do some double checking on your thyroid levels, as it does appear the new med isn't adjusted right somewhere.  Good luck.

Yes. Check your Free T3, Free T4 and reverse T3 levels
You may have thyroid resistance and your T4 could be converting directly to
reverse T3, thus reducing your free T3 levels (bioavailable).
In that case you would need Cytomel (only T3) in the smallest dose to start.
It you have a really good holistic-minded Endo, s/he may help you find the
cause of thyroid resistance.
Best wishes,
Niko
