I had a horrible nights sleep last night, could this be why??

Hi Everyone, I had the worst nights sleep last night, and I am wondering if this might be why. Well, I am currently taking 10mg of Lexapro, along with Warfarin, and .5 mg of Lorazapam at night. I used to take my Lexapro first thing in the morning, but by the middle of the day, I would have a horrible head ache, so my Dr. recommened taking it at night, with the hopes that I would sleep through any headaches or neausea. I made this switch this past Saturday and last night, I had some sleep issues and nervousness in the middle of the night. I am wondering if the Warfarin and the Lexpro together in my stomach may not be a good thing? Or maybe I just had a bad night. I was a bit anxious yesterday late in the day, perhaps that carried over into my sleep. Not sure, any opinions would be appreciated!

Thanks!!

I completely agree, I would not suggest trying a new medication right now with your new job. Medication is such a trial an error process; it sometimes can be so unbearable on the wrong medication. If you have something that works then I say stay on it.  It sounds like Lexapro does work for you.  If you can't sleep tonight then maybe just go back to taking it in the morning.  I hope I wasn't coming on to negative about Lexapro because I know that it works for many people.  I hope that you sleep better tonight and good luck with the new job!

Best,

Warfarin is a blood thinner, this whole anxiety thing began because I had a blood clot and a pulmonary embolism, which lead me to believe that I was going to have a stroke. I am much better now, but I think that is due to the help of the meds, since when I tried to stop taking Lexapro, I felt the anxiety symptoms again. Anyhow, I have slept pretty well since Saturday, other than last night. I guess I will give it a try one more night and see what happens, if I sleep horribly tonight as well, I will start taking it in the morning again. I know I could switch and try a new med, but I am in the process of starting a new job and that can be stressful enough, I don't want to go through the weaning process of Lexapro and then another waiting period on another drug right now. I want to get comfortable with my new job and the people I work with first.

Thank You for your inputs! I appreciate all the help I can get!

My personal opinion is Lexapro should not be taken at night.   My personal experience with Lexapro is that it kept me up at night.    I had to stop taking Lexapro because I could not sleep on it and it also made me very nauseated. I first started taking it at night and then I tried to take it in the morning and I still was getting a very bad night of sleep.   How long have you been on it? Have you slept well since Saturday, I know you didn't last night but what about the rest of the week?  I am sure that your anxiety also contributed to you not sleeping as well.   I am unfamiliar with Warfarin, is that Zanax?
