You should not do anything without the consultation of your doctor first. In my opinion, if you have been off of it for six months, I do not see a need to go back on it, however, I am not a medical professional. In my experience, if I am stressed or anxious I will notice twitching all over my body...could it be nerves? Are you still in counseling for your anxiety?
Thanks for the info. Been off for almost six months. That being said, do you still think that I should stick it out, or go back on and then taper more slowly.
My situation was different. I ended up on 1 mg klonopin and it did cause me problems. It ruined my sleep/wake cycle and I finally switched to valium and tapered off of that back in March. I did have that itching (plus a few other issues) as the brain is attempting to get back to where it was prior to using. Also, the half life is fairly long so there's still some of it left in your body cells. I haven't used a benzo since then and feel much better, so it can be done.
If you have been totally off klonopin for weeks, I stick it out and stay off. You'll start having more good days than bad ones.
Dr. agrees with you. Maybe there is something else going on. I wasn't even taking 1 mg/day for very long--it was mostly 0.5 mg/day. At this point, I not sure that I want to go on it again.
Definitely talk to your doctor, but 1 mg/day doesn't seem like very much at all to me. Makes me wonder if there's not something else going on? I'm on 3 mg/day and honestly I've taken as much as 10 mg/day (not advised!). I don't know how much more you can taper off 1 mg/day. Best of luck.
