OK, I'm officially lost...............our OP was concerned about some shortness of breath or, at least, the sensation.
I don't understand where or why the dental work came in.
Most of us here have anxiety, we "move our mouths" a lot because most of us need to talk during the day.
I'm not calling you wrong, but I guess I wasn't aware that when we talk, we are putting repeated pressure on our EARS, and it's worse if we're tense.
I was totally unaware that this natural process could produce anxiety and manifest as shortness of breath.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but could your issues have something to do with having lost all your teeth at the age of 25 and that wearing dentures that don't quite sit properly due to prior degredation, be the cause of YOUR feeling shortness of breath?

I feel like I've really missed something here.
The poster was concerned because he chewed tabacco and drank coffee and wondered if that could be the cause of his shortness of breath.

Ah, so you found it did you? Most people dont recognize this one. I do because of the dental work. When you have anxiety and move your mouth a lot, you put repeated pressure on your ears. this happens even more if you tense up, especially with a stimulant. This can cause symptoms of anxiety, ones which due to their location, can manifest easily as breathing difficulty, or the feeling of such.

This is one of my major symptoms because I have all fake teeth, and my jaw never quite got used to it due to the degradation i had before. (Im 25.) That part of your body is so sensitive, so crammed with nerves, that they can set off a whole lot.

It seems unlikely that coffee could restrict your breathing.

My advice? Get a second opinion.
It may very well just be anxiety, but without running some tests to rule out other possibilities, that diagnosis doesn't hold any water at all.
