weaning off xanex

i am one week off xanex.  i weaned down and then went cold turkey without a doctor's help.  i don't recommend it to anybody but it was right for me.  no serious side effects. thank god.

That's great.  How long did it take you and how much were you on?

That's something that others should not try to duplicate, however, as it can be very dangerous!
I'm looking for your answer to Summer's question, too.....

I was on Xanex for about 2 years, at first 3 times a day and then 1 a day.  i don't know the dosage.  i did it without the help of a doctor or anybody as he would probably not wanted me to wean off.  the whole reason to get off was it was getting too costly between the dr. visits and prescriptions i could not afford it anymore.  once they get you going they expect you to keep going once a month. that's too much money for me!!!   i'd rather find other ways to relax.  i was only on it because i was on Cymbalta and that made me too anxious.  i don't miss it and you could find other ways, exercise and yoga to relieve stress. walking is good also.  good luck to everybody!  margaret

p.s.  supplements are good and a good healthy diet.
