LEXAPRO HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

Ok,i've been takeing lexapro for 2wks and four days now.I also take 1mg of adavan as needed but,i seem to only gone two days without needing it.I take .5 bef. work and .5 at night.I am scared because i don't wanna get addicted to it.Although i have only been takeing the adavan for 1 month.My doc.gave me another script for it though because it's what's helping me right now.Although i would think the lexapro would start to do more by now.I feel tired all the time probably because i take the adavan in the am.But,if i don't i just feel weird all day.And for the past couple of days i've been feeling this pain that runs threw my lower hand into my pinkey no where else.So i'm totally freakin out not only bec.of this weird pain that happens on and off but,because i just don't feel right without the adavan.I don't know if it's a reaction to the medicane or if my nerves are on overload.I don't know what to do.Some say keep takeing the adavan and some say stop takeing it.I need to see my doc.i know but,i can't until wensday.I'm so tired of feeling strange and it's depressing because i don't feel like i'm getting better.If i don't take something all of my body symptoms will come back.Then i can barely function.

No problem! It will get better. =) If you don't think the Lexapro is helping at all in 6-8 weeks. Tell your Dr. You may want to try something else. Right now ativan seems to be helping. So I would not stop or taper til you feel like you are ready. You are taking a very small dose. K? =)

Thank u so much again.I always know when i post i have someone that knows what they are talkin about.I have been trying as of today to not take anything in the am just the lexapro.It was kind of hard this mourning but,the minor attacks i managed to get threw.I'm going to continue to take the .5 adavan for about another week at night before i start to cut them.Hopefully the lexapro will take full effect by then.I'm glad to hear you are doing Awsome on them.Hopefully soon i will feel the same way.
          @425runner I was very anxious the first week.If it wasn't for the adavan i don't think i could have done it.I still feel mild anxiety but,i'm trying to be patient and have a positive attitude about it.I just hate the weird anxiety panicky feeling like it's all in your stomech for no reason.That's the worst side effect i've felt.I did have a headache twice and kind of nauseated but,it wasn't terrible.I'm eating ok not up to par yet but,getting there.I hope all goes well for u.Keep us posted.

Ativan works wonders. =) And I didnt know you were already cutting a 1mg tablet in half. So you are already on just a small dose of .5mg. But yeah, when you talk to your Dr. or when you are ready to wean off of it, don't worry about it. Just one week cut that .5 in half. the next week, cut that half in half... they will be so small and tiny at the last week. lol. But I'm not a Dr. that's what just worked for me everytime! No side effects at all. Maybe a little trouble sleeping at some times, but no biggie. Hang in there.

@425runner. Lexapro 10mg the first 3 days, I was already in anxiety hell. The Lexapro heightened my anxiety the 1st 3 days. But after about day 8, I was on cloud nine. Still am. I'm so positive, so much energy its crazy. I only take the klonopin at night before bed. I'm fixing to start cutting my 1mg tablets of klonopin in half now. Hang in there buddy.

yes when i started lexapro my anxiety went through the roof! I also take klonopin small dose .25 sometimes a bit more in the am to help especially at the beginning. try to be patient and know that it gets better!

Thanks for the encouragement about Lexapro and Klonopin.  I'm on the same regimen and just took my first Lexapro 10 mg this morning.  Did you experience any side effects the first week?  I feel hyper alert but not focused, actually it heightened my anxiety!!

Taking more Klonopins to work for sure, in case the Lex triggers a panic attack.

Thank goodness,I so wanted to hear some good news i was freakin out and i was like where is cnote?he knows all of this stuff so again Thank u.I am trying to hang in here with this lexapro thing but,it is very hard.I see very little change so far.But,the adavan has helped tons.I seriously think i wouldn't be ok without it.And what do u mean cut them in half.I already cut the 1mg pill to make .5 am i supposed to cut that one to?So like in fours?WOW,i am such an amature when it comes to this LOL.So don't mind me.And your so right about the co-payment thing.It is very expensive as is.My lexapros are actually 20mg.I cut them in half to because it's cheaper to do it that way.But,thank u so much.

Keep taking your Ativan as prescribed. That's why you have it. I've taken Ativan for 3 years on and off. I'd take it for a few weeks, wean myself off, NO PROBLEMS.

You are on the same dose I was on. =) Don't worry about getting addicted. When you FEEL you don't need it on some days, don't take it. But at night before start cutting your .5mg pills in half, for about a week, then cut those in half the next week... so your taking little by little etc. til youre done. That's what I did everytime. NO PROBLEMS.

Instead of making an appt. you can always call your Dr.s office and have them call you. My Dr. usually will call me at the end of the day if I have a question instead of paying a $40.00 copay for a question.

Hang in there k.? I doubt the feeling you are having in your arm is ativan or lexapro related. Probably just your nerves. Anxiety can do a lot. Remember, accept you have anxiety. K? Hang in there. It get's better!

I'm doing GREAT! I'm going on a month now on Lexapro 10mg, and 1mg Klonopin at night before bed. And I'm fixing to cut my Klonopins in half now, b/c I feel I can sleep on my own now.
