i am on paxil 30 mg once a day and i have noticed that i can not get off when my husband and i have sex- is this a side affect to paxil - also i have been getting headaches is this a side affect also - also is weight gain a side affect also

please let me know if not getting off with my husband during sex is normal

yes, sexual side effects happen with alot of antidepressants. i was on paxil 20 mgs a day and had the same problem you do. i went down to a 10 mgs and now have almost no problems. can you go to that low of a dose? and i have'nt gained any weight on 10mgs. i am still trying to lose weight i gained being on 20 mgs! it's coming off slowly but surely. take care. remar

There can be certain sexual side efffects from SSRIs like Paxil as well as headaches, especially if you have just started taking it.  In my opinion, it is sometimes trial and error with different SSRIs; one could be great for someone while it can have fairly numerous side effects for another.  I would go and express my concerns to your prescribing doctor.  Keep us posted.
