The first thing that jumped out at me was your screenname and it made me wonder if you are suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I hope not, but being a soldier, that's the first thing that came to mind. A guy I dated had the same issue for several months, as he felt like he was under constant attack.
I've suffered from anxiety for several years and mine came on initially at night as well. I was put on an SSRI and up until December, that worked wonders for me. I'm still trying to figure out how to break free from anxiety myself (I'm on a different SSRI, have done therapy, etc.), so I feel for you. Xanax is the one thing that instantly calms me, but it isn't a permanent solution, and and doctors are reluctant to prescribing too much of it, as it can become addictive. Therapists will tell you to do self-talk, breathing exercises, etc., none of which have ever really worked for me. Recently, though, I've done these two videos and actually have success at night with calming down. It may be worth a shot for you...it's the only thing, besides Xanax, that has given me any relief recently.

I hope you get your health insurance soon so you can see your Dr. I'm not saying this is health related. It will be great though to have your insurance to get your Drs help with the anxiety.
Do you think night time is the trigger for you? My anxiety used to be the worst at night. I think that may be pretty common for us anxiety sufferers.
