Thank you very much for all of your help and advice, I will check that out!
I suggest that you go to your DR, or Pysc. and ask about Klonopin.
If you have 24/7 type anxiety, the atarax probably isnt going to work that great for you.
And taking Xanax daily will just build up tollerance and will be a roller coaster ride.
Klonopin is dosed 2X a day, and it actually builds up in your system, and it takes about 2 weeks for its difference between benzodiazapines to be seen.
Its allot safer, less chance for tollerance and a "need" to increase, and its allot easier to taper off, when your ready.
sorry for the type O's..just waking up, lol
you shouldnt combine the Atarax, and Xanax together because it could cause over sedation...possibly death, so watch out for that.
The safer pick is the Atarax, what kind of anxiety do you have?
Ocaasional panick attacks that last 15 minutes to a hour, or the 24/7 extreme anxiety?
I also do have xanax but only a .25 dose of that and was given 2 prescriptions one from each doctor and was only given like maybe 20 pills. I have about 5 left because I did not take them regularly and probably have some more downstairs from my mom. which would be better to take? and is a .25 dosage of xanax safe? its a small dosage isn't it?
Hydroxyzine or "Atarax" is a antihistamine, and it seems like thats the first thing that doctors like to try a person out on.
It doesnt work that good for Extreme anxiety, but have "heard" that it works alright..."not great" for mild anxiety.
Its allot safer then Benzos "Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan" and non addicting.
Hiope it works for you.
I believe it is an antihistamnine that is also prescribed for anxiety. It has been around for awhile, although I have never been prescribed it either. With your anxiety, have you ever thought of seeking help through talk therapy if you have access to it? Quite often a little knowledge about this can go a long way in dealing with it in my opinion...keep us posted!
I have heard it's good for anxiety and muscle pain but I haven't tried it. Do you have hives or any other medical problems?
