Work it out with your psychiatrist. The longer you're on it, the harder the quitting. And it's always better to be safe than sorry; benzos can be tough to quit. If your psychiatrist doesn't seem concerned about tapering or lacks knowledge, because most of them do, then find another one, because when you decide to quit the Celexa you'll potentially need the same kind of help. Always make sure the psychiatrist knows their stuff; don't assume.
I'm going to stay on it a few more weeks since it counteracts the extra anxiety (possibly from the Celexa). I'm only on week 3 of Celexa so I'm hoping it will start to kick in more. I think it is starting to help at least with my mood, but I'm still not back to myself ( I still have some serious stressors in my life that are frustrating, but I think I am getting through those soon). I'm sleeping ok but my appetite is non existent. The Klonopin helps calm my stomach and nerves at night and I start to relax enough to get a decent dinner in.
You have not been on it very long. Are you planning to taper off now? Just ensure that you do it under your doctor's supervision. My mantra has always been 'slower the better,' but none of us our doctors here in the forum...keep us posted!
