When you say sent to a mental health specialist, do you mean psychologist or psychiatrist? A psychiatrist will just put you on drugs, while a therapist, particularly a cognitive therapist, might be able to help you get past this. Drugs are sometimes necessary, but more often prescribed than they are necessary and they can produce problems. I'd try therapy and relaxation techniques before I got on the meds -- they'll still be there. And regular docs do not know how to treat this, so it's good you're going to someone who does -- assuming you find one who does. Your symptoms sound pretty standard. And hopefully God has nothing to do with this, or we'll have to think less highly of God, won't we?
I'm with you Nirvana1234. I have had prozac, zoloft, and never took one. i'm too afraid.
Yea only god knows why, I realized the more we panic about dying the more anxiety we build up, the worse the symptoms get, is funny how i know, but is so hard to control ur thoughts.. Is like they say is a mental issue :( i feel like god helps me stay strong.. God bless hope u feel better.
Trust me I fully am a devoted believer!:)! I pray to God everyday about this. Maybe you should give the meds a try. I did not want to but it made the anxiety better but the only side effect I got was headaches:/ God has a reason for me to be going through this.
Your not alone, i have anxiety i think? Lol i fear that everyday i will have a heart attack, i get chest pain upper back pain, the more i think about it the more i get panic, i feel like im frustraded going threw this. :( doctors prescribe me anxiety pills, but im scared taking them.. But the only thing that helps me is praying to god, & faith, ask god to help you..
