Thank you! I figured since I really want to be done with it and I went so quickly the last time and ended up getting right back on it that maybe slower would be better. I am going on a trip out of state and have decided to drop down to every other day AFTER I return!
You haven't ruined the "tapering schedule" by staying at the .25 level. The "schedule" is what your body needs to feel comfortable. You are much better off staying at .25 longer than your body needs than by flying through it before your body can adjust to the lower amount of Zoloft. By tapering too fast, one might as well just go cold turkey...the body hasn't had time to adjust to a low dose. The "schedule" is also dependent on how long you have been using the Zoloft.
Theresa, having only used it for 8 weeks, might do better on a more aggressive taper schedule but even then, why take the chance?
You are doing fine, slow and steady wins the race.
How long were you on zoloft? and what for? I took it for 8 weeks along with klonopin, and I think the zoloft gave me the jitters, so I told dr I wanted off. Friday is suppose to be my last day.
I'm so glad you posted this. I am going through the same process. It's my second try, as the first did not work out so well. I believe I have been on .25 from .50 for three or four weeks now. I had no idea where to go from there (cut the pill in half again or go every other day...) Please let me know how the every other day works. I hope I haven't ruined the tapering schedule by doing the .25 for so many weeks.
I used the exact same tapering schedule to wean myself off Zoloft. In my case, I didn't experience any withdrawal effects.
The first week on .25 was fine, but since going every other day, Sunday I had a headache, yesterday with it was fine, today I started to get a little anxious. Am currently taking .50 klonopin 3x/day so that is helping, I will work on getting off that too as soon as I'm off zoloft. Should I wait two or three days after my last day taking zoloft (friday) before tapering klonopin?
How does it feel to you? Have you noticed any symptoms when you went down to the .25 mg?
