Paxil Withdrawal

I recently ran out of Paxil and my doctor wouldn't prescribe more until I made an appointment to see him.  That hasn't happened yet, so for 5 days now  I haven't had my medication.  I'm scared.  I'm dizzy and buzzy headed like there's a buzzer going off in my head.
I'm nauseous, dyslexic and very emotionally unstable.  I can't remember things and say strange things to my clients at work and have to apologize for my stupidity.
I'm short of breath and feel like I'm either going to have a seizure or faint in public places.  What can I do?

You're in withdrawal, which is doubly silly because you don't even intend to stop the medication.  Call the psychiatrist, tell him or his receptionist that you've run out and are in withdrawal and need him to phone a prescription into the pharmacy right away.  If he won't, go to the ER and get an emergency refill.  As soon as you take another Paxil, the withdrawal will start to fade.  And then get a different psychiatrist right away; this one is nuts.

When can you get in to see your doctor?  Do you have another physician who knows you who could possibly see you and write a short term prescription until you can see your regular doctor?  You might be able to go to an Urgent Care office, explain your situation, and get some short term help until you can see your regular doctor.  I hope that helps.
