Physical Symptoms of Anxiety

Over the past few months I have been experiencing some awful symptoms.  I've had muscle and joint pain (over my whole body) and recently I'm having a difficult time breathing,, my chest feels tight and sometimes like there is a knot in the middle.  I've had a bunch of tests done that basically say I'm a healthy 26 year old male...I know these are text book signs of anxiety, but my question is can the physcial pain and the breathing trouble last all day?  Another question regarding the breathing, if it is anxiety, would it physically feel like chest is not expanding easily enough?  Or is that a sign of something more serious?

I'm not a doctor by any means, but this does sound like a lot of things that I'm going through right now -- which is all contributing factors of anxiety. I'm not suffering from any sort of depression though, so not sure if your doctor has told you this has anything to do with that. Keep me posted on everything!

thank you for your replies, that does help a bit.  It just feels like a squeezing around my lower ribs, I wasn't sure if that kind of sensation could be from anxiety or not...

I too had breathing problems all day. It was non-stop for about a week. I worried about it a lot because a lot of people told me the symptoms would only last a few hours at the most. This was the most significant symptom I had along with chest/heart pains. Since being on my medication I haven't had as bad of a time. I haven't had breathing issues for longer than a few minutes now. Please try and relax and keep your mind off of it. Just know it will come and go and the less you pay attention to it, the less it will control you. It still bothers me once in a while, but I realize that I can still breathe and that I'm still here. I hope you feel better.

so sorry your going throught this, yes anxiety can do that to your breathing , ive been there many times. and yes it can last all day 24/7 for weeks, once mine startes i wake up withit go to bed with it, so if you have had your heart checked out and the cardio dr says your fine than try and relax, it will help some but i dont think theres anything bad with you if your dr says your good to go. try breathing in deep  that helped me but sometimes nothing i did helped, just try get mind off your breathing .
