Saliva hiv

Saliva

by will20, 2 hours ago
Question. I am concerned about a massage experience I had a few days ago. THe other day I went for therapuetic massage which turned out to be more therapuetic that I thought. After getting the massage I was offered a HJ or **. I rejected both. BUt I did end up getting a breast massage, in which I put my penis between the women's breast and she stroke me using her breasts - I came. There was no mouth to penis contact, but I am scared that maybe she put saliva on my penis. To be honest, I don't think she did, but it was a dimly lit room, and I am concerned that if she did produce some saliva and spit on my penis I might be at risk for HIV or STD, especially if the saliva had blood in it. Like I said, I don't recall her doing that, so is my imagination running wild here, is this something I should concern myself with. I think it was stupid to go this far, and I wish I didn't. Is my guilt causing me to become delusional here? Wouldn't I have noticed her spitting on my. Dr. Handsfield says that saliva carries no"significant risk" of infection for HIV; that doesn't mean 0 so I am worried. THanks WIllSaliva

Will...........you are getting into the annoying "What if" phase of HIV Anxiety. You've been given answers, and no doubt booted off the HIV Forum here, Doctors here have responded, I've responded, you've read lots of posts regarding the transmission of HIV.

You can trust your senses all you want, doesn't change the fact that HIV can NOT survive in human saliva. It contains an enzyme that kills the virus almost instantly. And you've read a doctors statement that STDs cannot be passed in saliva, either.

HIV is transmitted three ways:
Unproteded anal/vaganil sex with an HIV+ partner
Sharing drug works with an HIV+ person
HIV+ mother to her unborn child

If you don't fall into any of those categories, MOVE ON!
But you might want to seriously consider getting yourself educated about HIV and if this anxiety keeps up, get some therapy. HIV anxiety is a real disorder.

I guess my question is this: I didn't see her spit, drool. I didn't feel spit or drool on myself, I didn't hear her spitting. I guess the act of spitting would be picked up by at least three senses or at least two.

Do I have a reason not to trust my own senses?

Even if she DID put her saliva on your penis, even if she had an open, bleeding cut in her mouth, if the exposure was exactly as you stated, you had NO RISK for HIV.
I can't say the same about other STDs. I advise going to the STD Forum and asking the folks over there.

To save yourself any "guilt" in the future, the next time you want a "therapeutic" massage, get a referral from the American Board of Licensed Massage Therapists.
