Can you not do anything leading up to sleep? I mean I always have a radio on. Normal radio. But then I switch over to a radio scanner. Listen to the airways. It takes the mind off of things and I fall asleep with great ease. Theraphy can be good. But you still have to face up to the problem. And finding that one thing to do, that will distract your mind, from thinking inwardly, is what you what need most of all. At times I even play games on my mobile phone for a while. Anything until I am ready to lay back and wait for sleep to come.
thank you! thats a great help!
No problem Lydia! Ha ha. When I do something like that I call them old timers moments. And believe me, I do it a lot.
You gave great advice, as always. It's so true that us anxiety sufferers do feel out of control and sleep can be a huge problem for us. Hopefully the person that posted this will come back and read what you wrote. Take care. Remar
Sorry remar for calling you "metalman!" Think that was the last post I was in! Or maybe "remar" made me think of "rebar" which is metal or God forbid I'm having another senior moment..........................

This is just my personal belief, but those of us with anxiety often have control issues, often based on the feeling of being "out of control" during an anxiety or panic attack. Sleeping, or what you call a "comatose state," leaves us vulnerable, out of control. Letting ourselves "go" can be freaky.
I agree with metalman that some therapy would be a good step for you. Not just for your anxiety in general, but you don't want this fear of falling asleep to turn into a full blown sleep disorder.

I understand what your talking about. I've been through the same thing. Anxiety can make you think about the strangest things can't it? Are you seeing a Dr right now? If not, then it would probably be a good idea to see one about your anxiety. Remar
