no im not thinking of stopping the drug just was wondering if i could take the same amount twice daily instead of three times daily.
Hey,
You already know it is important to reduce the amount of clonazapam gradually, and with your doctor's assistance.
Without a history of why you are taking this anti anxiety or why you are thinking of stopping it is difficult for me to offer a helpful opinion.
In my non-medical opinion, the dosage you are on is fairly typical. If you are taking it in 3 divided doses, you could see how you do taking it twice a day.
I have taken this medication for years. Generally one milligram total; recently increased to 1 1/2 mg after son's murder. I had to begin taking twice daily with increase in panic. Usually take once a day @ bedtime.
My doctor is only concerned that I keep anxiety under control for all that needs to be done following my son's death. My guiding principle is to do what it takes to keep functioning.
If that means a temporary change in dosage, I do it. If it means a slight increase that is what I do until the stressors decrease.
As clonazapam stays in system longer than most anti anxiety meds in its class, you may be fine with two doses a day.
Hope this helps. Best wishes.
