Ok so the past 2 nights I took .25mg of Klonopin and while it did not sedate me like it would a xanax of that strength I felt very weird....almost mellow inside yet antzy at the same time. I woke up both yesterday & today feeling like I had a slight hangover and very thirsty. Has anyone experienced this and will these symptoms subside the more i take it? Im thinking of cutting the .25 into .125mg tonite. Any feedback on this drug?
So I took my 1st .25mg last night and I actually felt a bit anxious after taking it, not so much sleepy. I woke up tired and edgy as I didnt get enough sleep and im about to get my period. I dont want to take any Klonopin during the work day as I am afraid I will get sleepy at my desk. To handle breakthrough I have xanax w/me. I cant wait for this work day to just be over...I fear attacks at work.
I started taking 0.5mg twice a day a couple of weeks ago. It is sedating for me, I'm very sensitive to medication, however. I cute my dose in half in the morning so I could function however my panic attacks have stopped (thank god). I've also found the longer I take it the less sedating it is. It all depends on the person, the best thing to do is just try it, like someone said before, maybe on the weekend and then you'll know. Good luck!
weekends are a good time to make the change sometimes. it gives you a couple days to get used to the day drowsiness...if there even is any.
She wants me to take .25mg mid morning & .25 at night....I did not take it this morning as I want to start at night to see how drowsy it makes me. I do have to work. Good thing the weekend is coming up as it will give me some time to adjust.
The nature in which Klonopin works, it needs to be dosed twice a day, to allow it to build up in the plasma, so follow your doc's instructions with the dosing schedule. It may give you some side effects initially, including drowsiness, but those should subside once you've been on it for a while. You're starting at a low dose, so that will help with the side effects.
Just be sure not to drive (or operate heavy machinery...lol) until you know how you will react to it.
it really depends. it's different for everyone. you know, there was a med i took 10 years ago and when i went back on it more recently, it had an entirely different effect on me....so even time alone can change completely the way a med like this can effect you. if it is sedating at first, it usually doesn't last once you start to get used to its effects.
