Various anxiety symptoms, Could this be a new one?

Since I was diagnosed with anxiety I've had some strange symptoms. I'm 20 years old and a female who is, besides being slightly overweight, having eczema and allergies, pretty healthy.

During my first experience I became so nervous that my arms and hands were numb for a week. I talked to my doctor about it very afraid that I had a disease and It went away a few days after she assured me it was anxiety.

After that, it passed and I haven't had anything since then quite like that.

Then I was having chest pains.I was scared something was wrong with my heart. After I talked to my doctor, the chest pains went away and now I only get them once in a while when I'm nervous.

Now I have these pains. They're pretty dull and sometimes they're just sensations that are uncomfortable. Nothing very painful at all, they just make me scared.

Mostly I get them in my fingers and wrist. But then I started worrying about them and waiting for them to come back. Now I've felt them in my feet, elbow, and arms.

They always come and go, and usually don't stay around long. I get them more when I'm not preoccupied.

Also, once in a while I get a muscle spasm (well, I'll feel a muscle in my leg shake a little) somewhere, usually my leg, and usually after sitting in one position for a while. I don't get them very often, but maybe they're important?

I've gone to the doctors about 5 times in the last 6 months or so, so I really don't know if I should go back because of this. Every time I've thought it was something serious and it's amounted to anxiety.

Any advice? Could this be an anxiety symptom?  Maybe I'm being way too sensitive to little aches and pains?

Yes, this all sounds simillar to experiences with anxiety. Hang in there... I know it is an awful feeling but with proper treatment you will get better. I remeber feeling like I was being tortured by this awful anxiety condition. Get in to see a therapist who specializes in anxiety. In my experience a therapist who has had anxiety themself is the only one who truly knows what you are going through. Shop around and try out several until you find the right fit. In the meantime pick up a copy of "The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook" by Edmound Bourne at your local bookstore. It saved my life and put my mind at ease. Once you realize there are millions of other people out ther who have gone through this and gotten better you will begin to feel better. For me the key was Deep Breathing, Exercise, Wieght Loss, proggressive Muscle Relaxation, Medatation and eventually starting some medication. All in this book. Good luck and hang in there...

This could all very well be anxiety related, when in this mode, our bodies tend to do many different things. The fact that talking to your doc helps tells me it is anxiety.
