I forgot to comment on one thing---
"unless he can 99% confirm I won't get the same feeling. It was horrendous. "
Unless your doctor is a psychic, this is impossible. EVERY person is different, and one person may have a HORRIBLE experience with one med, while the next person may feel the same medication is a miracle. That is very apparent by reading these forums.
Just keep in mind that as you try an SSRI (and really any kind of antidepressant), there is a period of adjustment, and unfortunately, MANY of these meds make us feel WORSE (when you didn't think it was possible) before we feel better.
The good news is...the side effects DO subside for most people, lessening every week of therapy. Just something to remember if you decide to try another kind of antidepressant. Sometimes, taking something short-term (like Xanax, Ativan, etc) is prescribed to help with the adverse side effects.
The great news, is once they start really working.....they really make a huge difference for a lot of people. It sometimes is a long road finding the exact dose, or combination of medications!
Thanks CJ yes, going back to doctor Tues, whoa.....that Lexapro did not agree with me today I am feeling at least like I was before the lexapro, not great but not insane. I would never want that feeling ever again. May try somethingelse but I may just ask for Klonopin to take when I need it. I'm scared to get on another permanent pill, unless he can 99% confirm I won't get the same feeling. It was horrendous.
Anxiety can manifest itself in many different ways and can be VERY confusing in my opinion. If it isn't one thing, it is another that can bother us. I found it quite common to become nervous about something that I used to feel comfortable with and vice versa when I was experiencing this. Have you gone back to your doctor to discuss your side effects with Lexapro? I was the same way with a particular SSRI and I switched which worked out much better for me. Sometimes it is a little trial and error to find out which one is a good match for you, in my opinion...keep us posted!
