Trazedone ? Side effects? Hangover

I'm just about to start trazedone - I feel so sleepy during the day (currently on zopiclone, cipralex) Cipralex doesn't seem to address my anxiety as well as Paxil.  Any feedback helpful.

What dosage are you going to try with Trazedone?

Traz works wonders for me. I'm currently on Cymbalta but was having some sleeping problems. I tried zopiclone (my god that stuff was nasty) but never felt rested. My doctor prescribed me 50mgs of trazodone to treat the symptoms of depression... key word there... symptoms. 50mgs is a LOW dose. I take it at night. I don't even recall the last time I've slept so well. I'm completely off any benzos because of trazodone. So, it gets a thumbs up from me!

I'd be concerned about that particular anti-depressent as it puts a person at risk for tardive dyskinesia. I'm not aware of other anti-depressents that do. As a person with advanced tardive dyskinesia I am always concerned but with some classes of medications (current antipsychotics) its hard to avoid. But with anti-depressents its usually not a documented risk but Tradazone is the exception. Since there are so many anti-depressents perhaps you might want to ask your psychiatrist about another one, considering the risk.
