Hm thanks, so do i need to add 5htp to Tryptophan in order for it to work better? I took 1 last night and I did have a good sleep I must say. I never usually have problems with sleeping though, i'm taking it for my anxiety and panic attacks, just trying something else besides meds.
You might find 5htp gets to the brain better than tryptohan, but the latter is certainly a lot cheaper. It's been used a sleep aid and anxiety aid for nearly a century, I believe. Tryptophan is the amino acid that manufactures serotonin. Generally, natural remedies are used in combinations, not singly, but the only way you'll know if it works is to try it. Take it apart from food, as with all amino acids, and I've heard one study found that the body absorbs tryptophan better with a simple carb meal in the late afternoon. Sounds counterintuitive, but that's what I heard. Don't know if it's true, though.
