You know what's crazy....I was taking Wellbutrin 150mg for 7 years. I started having anxiety toward the end. That's when my family doctor switched me to Lexapro...not tapering off. I had severe withdrawals for over a month. Finally got through that and then a couple of months later ended up with depression again. This time I saw a psych doctor. Tried several antidepressants and they didn't work. She put me back on Wellbutrin. You may be right that I need to have my dosage of Wellbutrin increased since I am also experiencing depression right now. Thanks for your support! :0)
I was on 150 mg XL of Wellbutrin and doing okay until this past May. My OCD/anxiety got the best of me and I had to up it to 300 mg. Once I got that in my system, I've done really well. I have had 1 panic attack (or near panic attack...I stopped it) since May. By long-term I was referring to something like Wellbutrin. I don't need to take any klonopin during the day but I do take 1 mg at night to sleep. Frankly, I was surprised that Wellbutrin worked for me. I was skeptical at first but it has taken away my OCD related anxiety. Maybe you need to up it? I'm no doctor but just a thought.
Thank you for your response. I forgot to mention that I take 150 mg Wellbutrin and 7.5mg of Remeron for sleep. What is a long term anxiety med? I have tried all the anti depressants that are supposed to help with anxiety but I always had a bad reaction of some type. I am just curious.
Boy have I been there. I understand the whole control issue very well. Anyway, since you are visiting the psych doctor tomorrow, have you considered going on a long-term anxiety medication rather than relying on the klonopin 3 x a day? Maybe it has just gotten too much for you and you need a bit more help. Anyway, people here are always willing to listen. Good luck tomorrow. :)
