Were you taking a total of 3 - 4 mgs. of xanax/day? If so, this is considered an emergency to get more xanax to taper off slowly. This is not an option - you could suffer serious adverse reactions like seizures.
I would recommend that you page your Dr. and tell him that your prescription was stolen and you need a refill immediately.
It was my daughter, 1 mg tabs 3 to 4 times a day, about 2 years now...just went cold turkey...on my 3rd day and it is not pleasant...I did not think it would get this bad...who am I kidding I feel like ****...ironic how my doctor prescribed this medication to me and I find out this is what is destroying her life along with alcohol and whatever else is available...I am so hurt and feel worthless...
Forgive the typos. Meant leave you without your medication.
Straight answer? Depends on what dose you were on. The higher the dose the harder the come down. You should know when you are due an xanax. Your body will let you know. Your boyfriend sounds like a right idiot to leave you with your medication. Is he taken them himself for to try gain a high? If so, and he does it long enough, he will suffer withdrawls too. Putting himself in harms way too by being the idiot he sounds like.
