help for hyperventilation

Hello everyone. Well I just recently read about a technique that has helped me confront my fears and physical symptoms of hyperventilation. I have to say that it's actually helped out quiet a bit , but I DON'T KNOW IF IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA FOR SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY SUFFERS FROM HEART, LUNG, BRAIN (LIKE CLOTS), OR HIGHBLOOD PRESSURE. THIS IS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN CHECKED OUT BY A DOCTOR ABOUT THEIR HEART, LUNGS, HEAD, ETC AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THEY ARE OK. Well, ya'll know whenever we get those horrible feelings of not being able to breathe right, then our chest becomes tight or with pressure, then comes the muscle tenseness and small headaches, and finally comes that HORRIBLE FEELING OF DOOM? We start automatically thinking that we have some fatal heart, lung or brain problem right? Well when you start thinking that, think about this....if we were having problems ( ex: heart attack, stroke, air way closing up, etc.) what's the one thing we couldn't do???? EXERCISE! I know it sounds frightening just to think about exercise at times like these because we freeze up waiting for the heart attack or death to come, but if we can confront our fears little by little I know that's how we'll fight anxiety. Whenever I get those feelings I'll start to walk, then walk a little bit faster, and then maybe jog a little ( I am bit overweight lol), but when I notice that I can actually walk I finally realize that there aint gonna be any heart attack for me and my bad feelings go away! I mean if we had a clot in our hearts or brains we would certainly pass out right??? I have also read that supposedly fainting is caused by low blood pressure which is the opposite of what I get when I start worrying (Even though I feel like I'm going to pass out I've never actually done it). I mean I've never had a heart attack or stroke, THANK JEHOVA GOD, but I always thought that people who do get those, freeze from the agony of it and certainly cannot even walk. Like I said this takes practice because It's the fear and stress that causes all of these terrible symptoms and again I must say that I WOULD NOT TRY THIS IF I HAD ACTUAL VITAL ORGAN COMPLICATIONS OR AT LEAST ASK MY DOCTOR ABOUT IT FIRST. Also remember that courage is NOT not being afraid, but it's being afraid and doing what your afraid of ANYWAY. Well guys I hope this helps anyone out there with hyperventilation out a bit, and would like to please ask anyone else who knows good techniques to confront anxiety or any symptoms to PLEASE, PLEASE post them for everyone to see. Thank ya'll and take care.

My therapist made me hyperventilate on purpose. He done it too. Just to show that you can calm down after it. One way of getting used to it.
