anxiety worse at night...

My anxiety and depression has always gotten worse at night, but lately it's been really bad. I know that it's normal to be more in a depressive state at night but why is it so bad? I get weird thoughts and sometimes weird dreams, and i start crying out of no where or getting mad and upset . Sometimes It just gets out of control and I can catch it but it's hard to stop it all together.

I found that my anxiety was worse at night because I wasn't keeping busy.  I didn't have anything else to focus on.

When you feel it coming on try to focus on something else or try writing in a journal.  Sometimes just getting things out on paper helps you to relax.  You might want to consider doing some yoga or listening to chakra sessions.  Anything that will help you relax and refocus.

The night has always been the worse for me too. I was up three times, but luckily got back to sleep after a while. Other nights I am up and in a panic for most of the night. I am still trying to figure out the why and how to best address it. Good luck to you!
