I know this might be stupid but have you read any of Dr Claire Weekes books?

Before I suffered from panic attacks mostly in travel situations, but they kept spreading.  When imipramine stopped working I ended up on Paxil.  It helped, but the side effects got too intrusive,.  Now, I'm just anxious and depressed all the time, for no reason at all.

So are you ok to go on paxil again. How did you go on it before? besides the withdrawal problems. What type of anxiety do you have?

Well, after the Paxil debacle, caused by a really really bad psychiatrist, I got a paradoxical reaction to most things, and finally went on, coincidentally, Lexapro, but it hasn't helped much.  My new psychiatrist is now taking me down on dosage very slowly, but she really doesn't know what to do -- nobody does.  I'm apparently an anomaly.  She's now discussing putting me back on Paxil; that may be the only choice, like my neurological system won't work anymore because of whatever it did to me.  Anyway, don't know yet, it'll be a long taper down.  She's being very careful because I'm so fearful now.  And to think I only had phobias before!

You poor bugger. My brother has had it for years and is really bad too. I do actually have a form of nurosis anxiety. (something like that) I am or have a phobia of dieing etc like a lot of anxiety sufferes I guess. I did have a few days of feeling like no wonder people decide to die instead of putting up with this but I have three babies and I just cant. I used to have a fantastic life. Very outgoing etc so I am positive about getting it back. Have you read any of Dr Claire Weekes books. They helped me. She is old fashioned but very practical. The doc has just put me on Lexapro and my anxiety has been a little worse especially waking super early in the morning and feeling like ****. Churning tummy etc. I think maybe with the progress I was making on my own I should have waited but I was so scared of getting really low again. I couldnt afford this. My brother who had a breakdown went on arrapax (not sure of spelling) and he is feeling a lot better. I am truely sorry for you feeling this bad. What things have you tried out?

How much anxiety affects the immune system is up to you.  If you take good care of your body and replenish what you lose through anxiety with supplements and good food, your immune system will be fine.  If you don't, then yes, it can be affected, but no matter how strong an immune system, nobody's immune from getting something sometime.  We all die eventually, we all get sick sometimes, even people without anxiety.  I've suffered from anxiety for years, but I take things to protect my body from it, such as a good stress B vitamin, immune system modulators, adaptogenic herbs.  I eat organically grown food and lots of colored vegetables to make sure I get enough antioxidants.  I exercise a lot.  I'm extremely healthy physically, but I'm a wreck with anxiety now after a horrid bout with Paxil withdrawal. Sometimes I wish I'd just get something and die already, but unfortunately, anxiety doesn't kill, it just feels like it.  Getting better is what we all want, but don't frighten yourself even more by letting anxiety create even more anxiety about your health. I have no idea what to do about anxiety, really, but general health can be provided for.

Since you don't have HIV, it isn't causing anything.  Thrush is very common, and easy to get rid of, either naturally or through a physician.  An antibiotic just in case?  Overuse of antibiotics is far more harmful to the immune system than anxiety.  But whatever, doctors are doctors.  Take a good probiotic, make sure it's from the refrigerator in a good health food store, and try to get one with reuteri in it as well as acidophilus.  Take this after you finish the antibiotics.  It will help replenish the good bacteria antibiotics kill off, and also help prevent the return of thrush.

the doc. tells me that i am very depressed and that i might have anxiety. I recently suspected that there was some thing wrong with me so i went and got tested for HIV, I did the Rapid test and every thing was clear...   but then the doctor also gave me some antiboitics like doxycillin just in case.....  he also have me Lexapro.

I just dont know i am really scared.....    does any one know if they can be wrong?

I have looked up all the symptoms of hiv and anciety and they are very similar.

the only difference is HIV can cause Thrush ........

Thoughts comments please .................    thanks.

Well I personally believe that if you have had anxiety long enough and your immune system is wrecked anything can happen!

No, anxiety doesn't cause thrush.  It doesn't cause the flu.  It doesn't cause appendicitis.  Come one, folks, anxiety can suppress the immune system, but it's not to blame for every fungus and bacteria people get.  It's just thrush.

Well I wouldnt rule it out. When your stressed it effects your immune system. Which ine turn effcts the lining of your gut. This can cause basically an overabundance of bad bacteria. Do you find you have bowel problems similar to IBS for example. Once you get thrush symptoms like your tongue usually its already in your tummy. getting too much of this through your system can cause so many problems. Joint pain, headaches, tiredness etc. Google it!

Are you sure you have Thrush? I have not heard that it can cause it, if you are having this trouble, I would see a doctor and have him/her tell you what it is and what the cause is.
