can you develop an allergy to xanax after going back on it

I have been on xnax  for years stopped last year was put on ativan mot recently for 3 months now they stopped my ativan and put me back on xanax..my skin sometimes itches and i sweat bad at night could i be allergic to it,or do i just have to get used to it i have been on xanax and oof ativan a week now,,,,,i also feel very drowsy

Hi Hazy,
I can't say that I've ever heard of anyone becoming allergic to Xanax if you've already been on it and had no problems, but people DO change and I am not qualified to tell you if that is what is causing your itching and night sweats. As you well know, as does just about everyone on this forum, I am NOT a doctor, so my best advice is for you to talk with your prescribing physician about these symptoms. You've been having your fair share of difficulties getting this straightened out and I hope that you will very soon begin to feel like your old self again!
