citalopram

i was pescribed this for anxiety which i can not seem to shift. i took  my first 10 mg dose last night and i feel awful, more anxious than i was before.i want to stop taking this medicine. do you think i will suffer withdrawals after one dose? has anyone had any success with this drug?

I was on this for over a year. It worked well for me when i remembered to take it. You have to give it at least a week for it to kick in. I don't think i felt the affects of it at all until i ended up increasing it to fast. I went up to 2 pills of 40 mg and i found it worked well for me. But if you are looking for somethign that you want a instance or close to it anti -  anxiety, you need to ask your doctor to give you pills that are not SSRI.

Probably no withdrawal after one dose, but it's too early to tell if it's going to work or not.
