Is there something you're dreading? Just knowing that the feelings you describe are stress and anxiety calms me down enough. I try to eat well and sleep as much as possible. I also keep a sort of diary and try to exercise. Also I find that I forget or fail to exhale completely and tense up. I use a breathing technique witch is fairly simple. I just breath in normally. and then breath out and as I do i count from one to four and feel my lungs empty completely. I repeat this until I find a sort of calm. One other thing I'm trying to master is to not dread the future and what is beyond by control and just deal with things as they come. I have found that worrying about things all the time gets you nothing but dread for the worst case scenario possible. So I guess I'd just have to say I cope by just going with the flow and knowing that what I'm feeling is anxiety and it's very unlikely to cause me any major harm. The more you think about the actually anxiety and stress the deeper they latch their claws into your mind. Hope this helps.
For ten years I have had an Anxiety disorder, was on Venalflaxine 150 mg and Propranaol 80 mg, had a year free of anxiety and with meds. When out the week end and felt it the next day when the drink was wearing off, a few ppl on her have told me drink is bad for anxiety. I don't drink all the time just when out with m8's the weekend an paid for it the next day. Got the Dr tonigh gonna see if I can go back on the meds again, got a lot of stress going on with being so far away from my kids, and the way my ex is being. Ppl on hear have been good with advise tho. Leaving goin out now, not going through that again. How long have u suffered with anxiety?
Are you on any medication for it? I can only tell you what works for me. Writing in a private journal every single day, especially if you wont see a counslor or a private doctor. Learning to meditate calms you and relieves stress in the body by relaxing you. I hope I have helped you in some way. Jamie
