Oh geez.  Please find another doc to manage these meds for you, preferably a psychiatrist.  Paxil is difficult to come off and should be slowly, and gradually tapered.  Are you still taking the Paxil?  If so, don't stop until you see another doctor who can advise you on a proper taper plan.

Good luck, update us when you can!  We're here for you!

Did doc say to just stop?  You can't just stop taking Paxil, you have to taper off very slowly.  It's a very tough drug to stop taking for most people.  I will tell you I was on clonazepam and Paxil at the same time for years, but the Paxil was way more effective than the clonazepam.  What may have happened is new challenges may have arisen in your life -- drugs don't cure anything, they just mitigate the symptoms but new challenges can override the effect.  Or often drugs just stop working, and the solution is usually to up the dosage or move to another antidepressant, but you first have to taper off the old drug as slowly as you need to before you start a new drug because you need to manage the withdrawals.  Is your doc a psychiatrist experienced and caring in this, or a general doc?  The latter often don't have enough experience or time to manage this kind of thing.  Any doc who tells you to just stop taking Paxil is one to avoid for your mental health care -- the news about the difficulty in stopping these drugs, and especially Paxil, is so old now anyone who doesn't know to slowly taper and monitor should be avoided.  I do want to warn you, if it were me I'd try to up the Paxil dosage if you really need to, because once you've been on Paxil many people find other meds just don't work very well -- Paxil is very strong, for whatever reason, and should be a last resort med for this reason and others, so I'd try to stay on it and redouble my efforts to find a non-medication solution to your problem while the Paxil is mitigating your symptoms.  Good luck.

I would have to ask the same question.  Don't ever take medication unless it prescribed to you.  In my experience with anxiety it is common to prescribe an SSRI like Paxil with a benzo, especially early on.  Also, another great resource in my opinion, is your local pharmacist that fills your prescriptions.  He/she has a lot of knowledge about medications and their particular interactions.

Were they prescribed to you, together by the same doctor?
