Well said Jerry and good point!  Joshua, if you're on any medications, drinking is not advisable, certainly not in excess!

I take several heart medications and I think all of them say "no alcohol"   -  but I have a glass of wine or a beer most evenings and that doesn't give me any problems as far as I can tell.  But I don't sit down an drink a bottle of win or have several beers or hard liquor drinks.

Given your history as I read it here, quit drinking, that can't be any harder than a diet or stopping smoking.  We all have to work on one or more of these issues if we are to live long and feel well.

Ok, now I remember you, I reviewed your posts.  It's difficult to discern from your posts if you were given an actual cardiac diagnosis.  I've seen that you've had some PVCs and bradycardia, and have had some diagnostic tests, including an angiogram done, but I don't see anywhere where you state what the doctor said you're dealing with.  I see you mention that a lot was ruled out (ie CAD).  If you have a cardiologist, call him to be on the safe side.  IMO, your symptoms don't warrant an ER visit, but a call to the doctor.

Also, you're no stranger to drinking and the resulting anxiety that follows, and have been told before that that's bad news for anxiety (which you have a lot of).  I'm not sure what else to tell you other than, is this not clicking that the alcohol is NOT healthy for you and is causing a lot of anxiety?  Maybe you have an alcohol problem that needs addressed?  I just cannot personally imagine continuing to expose myself over and over to a KNOWN trigger.  Doesn't make a lot of sense does it?  Therefore, maybe you DO need to talk to someone about your drinking.  If you don't have a problem, then just stop drinking.  You won't miss it I promise.  You definitely won't miss the torturous anxiety that follows.

Lastly, are you addressing your anxiety with a professional?  You've suffered from a high level of anxiety for quite some time now, you really need to start working on that, with some help.

Good luck to you!

What kind of "heart problems" do you have?  I didn't look at your posting history, but your name is ringing a bell.  Have you been diagnosed with a certain heart condition?

Let me tell you hon, alcohol is the WORST thing an anxious person can partake in.  It really is.  It will cause anxiety for DAYS after indulging.  I all but gave it up completely because one night of a few drinks wasn't worth a week of anxiety and panic.  No way!

Also, excessive alcohol intake also causes dehydration, and all kinds of other symptoms.  I've had heart palpitations, PVCs the day after drinking. That's VERY normal   Obviously, if you have a serious condition, then yes, it's advisable to at least call your doc (cardiologist).  I think I remember that you don't have a serious heart condition.

If that's the case (you don't), then I agree with hydrating yourself and trying to stay distracted.  Get out and go for a walk, take a nice long hot bath or shower.  Watch a funny movie.  What time is it there?  If daytime, you don't need to be sleeping anyway, get up and do some things.  You can always nap later if you feel tired from partying.

And for goodness sakes, lay off the alcohol!  You will continue to put yourself in these situations if you continue to drink.  Take it from someone who has been there!
