I would have to agree with greenlydia. Give us more information, but I can't stress enough that stopping these types of medications that are typically used in this community can not only put yourself through more trouble than it is worth but can be dangerous in my opinon. I am a proponent of medications commonly used to treat anxiety, however, they need to be taken as directed and part of that direction is coming off (and going on them) properly. As with any medication, keep an open dialogue with your prescribing doctor.
As she said, get with your doctor to get on a proper tapering schedule so you can come off of it slowly. Another great resource is your local pharmacist in my opinion. For me, when I come off of something, I do have side effects, however, I know I can make it much better if I am in good communication with my doctor. He/she can advise you on what to do. For example, I was noticing some withdrawal effects and I talked to mine and she slowed the taper down which helped me tremendously....keep us posted!
Either give us more information about which med you were on, how long you were on it, at what dose and what your weaning schedule is, or call your doctor. If a withdrawal is being done correctly, you may still have a few brain zaps, but it sounds like you're about over the edge. I really think you should call your doctor and let him know. He should know how to help you. If not, I suggest a new doctor.
Good luck.........it's tough to w/d but stick with it. It's soooo worth it.
Peace
