eating me slowly

Recently i applied for a job and the all job process will require a medical check up
at the beginning I was confident about it but as time goes by I became anxious, so anxious that now I have fallen sick and I keep getting nightmares about having a deadly disease
now I can't sleep at night because I don't want to have another nightmare, I noticed that I have lost appetite cause I barely eat for my chest keep pounding and I keep examining my body and spend most time reading about diease on the internet, the anxiety has lead to fear which is now noticeably by people around me

what can I do to get back to my normal life?

Hello and welcome!  You've come to the right place!

For starters, have you had the employment physical yet?  I don't know if you've had one before, but they are VERY basic.  They're not exams that look in depth for medical problems, they just basically check your overall health condition, including vital signs, height/weight, sometimes vision screening, and if your job requires physical activity/lifting, they will sometimes check your ability to lift something the same weight you would be required to lift on the job, along with some range of motion/gait assessments.  Other than a drug test, which is commonly done (your job would have to request it and you would have to consent to it),  that's really about it.  Not much to it at all.  Most times you don't even have to disrobe.  Some docs are less thorough than others.  I've had pre-employment physicals that have lasted all of 5 minutes.

That being said, you obviously are experiencing a disproportionate level of anxiety about this.  Do you have a history of anxiety?  Do you commonly worry about your health?  Have you ever sought out professional help for anxiety?  That's a good idea at this point, since your level of anxiety is severe enough to be disruptive to your life.

Let us know how you're doing okay?  You're among people here who understand and care.
