Jennifer's problem, as you can clearly see, is that she is so wishy-washy and vague -never really expresses an opinion about anything. C'mon, Jenn -tell us how you REALLY feel!
I can get away with kidding her like that, because she knows I actually can count on her to take a stand when that's really the right thing to do, so I'll take the opportunity to say "thanks, Jenn" right here and now. And Tara is somewhat new to these here parts but based on everything I've seen from her, I hope she sticks around.
Which brings us to YOU Janis (the New York one, not the GB one). You are obviously, perhaps embarrassingly, intelligent and a keen observer of yourself and what's going on. I really can't improve opun what Tara and Jenn have said, but I will add the following:
Enter the name of ANY DRUG in the search box at upper right, click "Go" and see useful and "official" information about the drug. In addition to the user experiences reported here, it is a good way to get the facts and a great supplment to what your doctor and others who use the may have told you. Try it out.
One of the BEST ways to get the most out of this forum to work is to JOIN it - become a part of it. Its easy -just click the Join Link -enter some profile information about yourself -even a picture if you care to- and anything you think would help us get to know you faster and better, and you can change this material whenever you like. You will also be accessible to receive private messages when other members click the name you've given yourself -sort of a "push to talk" feature. After you've done that, spend some time just using various features of the forum. I DO hope you'll consider it, because we NEED people like you.
Thanks!
Jan,, if you really feel its making you worse, demand your doctor take you off it and try the zoloft asap. I had whats called antidepressant psychosis while on paxil and the makers have been sued more than once due to that medicine causing seriouse harm to some people.
In the columbine case (one of the boys involved was just put on it before the shooting occured, he had no violent history before the pills) the makers even went on to get a court order to destroy the records, including statements made by the boys parents regarding the fact that both had been on anti-depressants just prior to what occured.
These pharmacudical corps dont want people to be aware that their medicines can either help you alot ,,, or do seriouse damage to your mental state.. theres little room between.
If you have any doubts regarding what Im saying, please go to google and type in "paxil psychosis" or anti-depressant psychosis.
Its your body,,, dont let anyone talk you into forcing yourself to take the pills if they feel really horrible in you, because theres a very good chance it will just get worse. Find what works and if this doctor wont work with you on that,,, find a better one! :0)
*Wishing you peace*
I took paxil for GAD for about 3 months. Same 10mg dose, and up to 20mg for the last month. It actually really seemed to help my anxiety, but it did take about 2 weeks for it to start working. I ended up getting off of it because it made me feel very dizzy and sick to my stomach.
I am now on Wellbutrin, and I feel like my anxiety is getting worse, but it costs me so much money that I dont want to just throw away an unopened bottle (just got my month #2 perscription) so I am going to keep taking it. Hopefully it will take effect and this feeling will go away.
