gracias, the info helped me a lot ...i will do some of the things you told me and if i don't see any improvement , i will go to the doc in the next couple of days...it is weird because it goes away sometimes by itself without using anything and doesn't come back in years until now...we will see what happens in the next days...probably as you said i am not drinking enough water, have stress or the niacin stuff. you talked about, i need to check on that..i mentioned about my kidney disease because i read somewhere that it may cause itching in some cases sometimes, but i have to ask that to my doc, it just came into my mind cause my mother died from cirrosis and kidney failure and i know she suffered from itching very often, i hope that it's not related and be inherited...;(!thank you, again and good day...
Without knowing what your kidney problem is, I would strongly suggest you see your nephrologist and let him/her rule out anything problems there.
I seriously doubt you have poisoned yourself with food. Common food poisoning would give you GI problems like vomiting and diarrhea.
More serious food poisoning, like botulism, presents not with GI problems but such symptoms as dry mouth, double vision, inability to focus on nearby objects and drooping eyelids. It is, quite often, mistaken for stroke. A deadly error.
You could have an allergy to many other things besides the soap you use. The possibilities are endless and takes an allergist to pin it down. Have you started using any new products? New foods? Gotten a pet? New carpet? New car? New job? I could type all day. Does anything jump out at you that you know is new to you?
You may also have extremely dry skin. Try using a high quality, dermatology recommended lotion such as Eucerin liberally several times a day and at bedtime.
If you are not drinking enough fluids, dehydration can cause itching.
Are you taking any medications, either prescription or OTC that contain niacin? Niacin can cause flushing which happens when our blood vessels expand (which niacin is used for) and the blood rises closer to our skin which can cause really intense sensations of heat, extreme itching and a deep red "flush" of color to our skin which is usually limited to the upper portion of our bodies...........chest, neck, arms and head.
I'm afraid that pretty much sums up my guesses. Unless it suddenly gets much worse, what I would do, and I am not saying YOU should do this, I would try some of the things I suggested and see if there was any improvement. If not, I'd go to the doctor..........a dermatologist to be more precise. It's up to you if you wait or not.
Peace
