Palpitation

I am 55 years, from past 30 days i get sudden palpitations. my heart beats increase and suddely it lowers. That is it beats faster for 5 times and lowers suddenly 3 times. This goes on repeatedly. Mostly I get these palpitations while I lie down. Three years ago I was diagonised that I have Mitrial Vavle prolapse. I have not consulted any doctor for the palpitation. Do I need to consult any doc for this? What could be the possible reasons?

I had something similar to that i went to my doctor and found out i had an infection im on medication now and its better.  I would go its better to know what it is than worry about it.

If you are uncomfortable with the palpitations and it is increases your anxiety
it might be wise to make an appointment with your doctor...
