I am on paxiil for that generic paxil. it works.
have you tried going to therapy? Medications are very helpful but they are just a band-aid. Cognitive therapy is very effective and it works but only if you make it work. It seems as though you are allergic to the xanax, so yes talk to your doc about this to see if he/she can switch you to klonopin.
Talk to the doc about a chnage in meds. Everyone is different so all I can do is tell you what I use. Klonopin (Generic clozapan?...I get the brand name). It's an older med, I've been on it since the early 90's and it works very fast. It's just a suggestion. I started out on 1mg, but back then they were so bad it went to 2mgs 2x's a day, and I have chnaged it since. It has a long 1/2 life, which means if you just stopped taking it it would still work a day or so, and then bam, once it started to get out of your system in whacks you again. The thing with this med is that it is hard to get off once you are on it, and you need to go off slow whenever you are ready. They can and will make you more tired, but I take that as opposed to those panic attacks....never want to experience those again.
Good luck, hang in there!
