Try making a list of all that you think is wrong with you. Then another of all the things you are or have been good at. Also list the things you'd hate to lose, like sight etc. Am fairly sure you'd rather have the 'good list than the other?' Find out what's causing your anxiety, unresolved issues? If you can detect what's causing it you can cure it. Otherwise you'd better stay trying to be positive. CBT has helped me & continues to. Find out about it & give it a try. No side effects. Good Luck. Stay active,

One of the most common causes of swelling in this area is acid reflux coming up from the stomach and burning the larynx. The acid reflux  causes an acid burn of the throat tissues resulting in swelling that feels like a golf ball is stuck in the throat.  Often the post-nasal drip feel is actually normal secretion from the nose and sinuses that backs up because of the tissue swelling in this area.

Other common causes are allergies and infections. At one time there was a common diagnosis called globus hystericus, defined as a lump-like sensation in the throat thought to be caused by anxiety. Today, all one has to do to determine the source of the sensation is to have an ear nose and throat doctor have a look at the area with an ultra-thin flexible scope. So if you are experiencing a lump-like sensation in your throat, please see your doctor.

Good luck to you

I have been through that as well...I don't know how to tell you to make it better, except for me it eventually got better.  I still have a little anxiety over it at times though even still.  I usually make sure I have plenty to drink and I take small bites and chew really well.  Hope it passes for you soon!
