Yup....I'm with Greenlydia.  Schedule that appointment with another doctor.  Never hurts to get a second opinion.

I don't think the bump has anything whatsoever to do with your heart simply because it was in the area where your heart is located. I also don't think it has anything to do with stress. If it is swollen and hurts when touched, in my humble and non-medical opinion, I believe it should be biopsied or lanced and the contents examined. You've been on this forum almost a year now..........how many posts have you read about "stress bumps?" I'm guessing yours is the first. I know I've never heard of them.
I don't want to burst your bubble about EKG's, but sometimes it's good to know this stuff. An EKG measures the electrical patterns of your heart. It would pick up any abnormality, palps, heart attack..........etc. But what most people don't realize is that the test shows only what your heart is doing AT THAT MOMENT. It doesn't show what your heart was doing 5 minutes before the test nor will it tell you what's going to happen 5 minutes afterwards.

I can't even figure out why he would order an EKG. Were you having chest pains at the time? Abnormal palpitations? Was there an actual medical reason or did he order it because you asked for one?

Well, you began this thread not knowing what's going on and even after seeing your doctor, you still don't know.
I'm voting, again, for the second opinion and therapy.
See ya next time,

Your doctor may be right, but he also may be wrong.  Get another opinion.  If all this is going a med change may be due...at the very least.

He did an ekg before and it came back normal. And then i went to the hospital once and they did it , and it came back normal. So i don't know and yes it is the same dr that prescribed me the effexor. And he didn't discuss doing a biopsy to see what the bump is made of . He didn't do anything like that all he did was say it's from stress

How long have you been on Effexor and at what dose?

If you feel like you're going to pass out everytime you begin to feel a little "sad, worried or ANYTHING," if you've been getting really bad headaches and stomach aches and sometimes can barely see straight, you need to see the doctor who prescribed the Effexor as soon as posible.

You also have a "big bump" where your heart is and your doctor said "its from STRESS?" AND it was swollen? So just how big WAS this swollen bump?
What does he plan on doing? Did he discuss possibly doing a biopsy to see what this bump is made of..........besides stress?

Did you tell him about the other problems you were experencing and did he recommend any treatment? Any tests or bloodwork? Is this the same doctor who put you on the Effexor?

You said, twice, that you don't know what's going on, and, I fear, neither does your doctor.
I'd strongly suggest a second opinion, manda. And therapy.
