what else can i take

I have extreme PTSD and am bi-polar leaning toward depression.  I have been on meds for years, and had to go into rehab years ago because I have a very addictive personality.  The problem is, I am EXTREMELY anxious and have suffered anxiety attacks before and am afraid of just about everything.  Whenever I switch doctor's (insurance, moving, etc) they are truly reluctant to prescribe any anxiety meds and I am extremely leery o taking them because I become very addicted, and then if I run out or anything, I go through terrible withdrawals.  Is there anything that can be prescribed that is not addictive (I know everything can be mentally addictive), that can help with the extreme anxiety I have?   I take sleep meds and an antidepressant.

what anti depressants are you taking? Many anti-depressants treat anxiety as well. I treated mine with celexa and I did excellent but I quit because of sexual side effects. I now started Effexor and so far-so good.

I also take clonazapam although it is addictive. As long as it helps. Here in Canada it's easy to get benzos. I know withdrawal will be hell but till then..I'll try to enjoy anxiety-free life.

I take Effexor XR.  Doesn't seem to help me at all with anxiety.  Most antidepressants don't help me.  Because I've been on meds for so many years, usually I need something really, really strong that will knock out anxiety.  Like, I used to take 2 10 valiums instead of 1, and I'm only 4'11" and weight about 100 lbs.
