paxil 40 mg causing more anxiety?

Hi was wondering if higher doses of paroxetine causes more anxiety ? also taking .5mg of alprazolam(xanax)and 5mg norvasc for HBP Recently had a setback with driving and now more attacks. The xanax helps but still nervous about work. It seems as if maybe its time for a change ? But i'm very sensitive to side effects Thank you for any responses in advance

Talking it through with a theapist is a great idea.  Even though it can be VERY uncomfortable confronting ones fears, in the long run I think that is the best way to do it for long term relief.  I believe you are on the right track. Recognizing and confronting it is very important!

Did you recently increase the dosage per your doc's orders?  I always find that when I started, stopped, or adjusted dosage, I would have increased anxiety and feel a little more on edge, but it would level out within a few weeks or so.  These meds can sometimes be a little trial and error in finding which one is right for you sometimes.  If you continue to have these effects, I would talk to your doctor about them...keep us posted!
