I just wanted to reinforce greenydia's advice to you re: working with your Doc.
I've had success in weaning off Remeron 30 mg. twice - but I would not recommend weaing off two medications at the same time.
Fortunately, Remeron is a tetracyclic so it doesn't have the same withdrawal effects that many folks experience from the SSRI's...
Good luck - you might also want to check out ativan withdrawal symptoms, too, under Dr. Ashton's benzo site. I found her to be very helpful.
All the best to you...
OK, that explains the up and down of the remeron. I knew nothing about the leg and arm weakness, and don't have an answer for you about that. Maybe someone else on this forum has had those same sensations from w/d of Ativan. But if I was you, I would go straight to the horses mouth and call my shrink.........he/she will have the correct answer for you.
Again, good luck!
Peace
Greenlydia
yes i didnt like what 45 mg was doing to me, so in your opinion the weakness i am experience in my arms and legs is from coming off of ativan?
I don't find any information about difficulty coming off mirtazapine. (Remeron) I find some dosing info regarding the need to titrate to max dose, but you're working with a psychiatrist who has massive knowledge of pharmacology, and if you trust him/her, then trust them to get you off the mirtazapine the correct and safest way. Why they would have you switching back and forth from 30mg to 45mg is a mystery to me, but allowing as how they have a wee bit more education than I do, they probably have their reasons. Did you ever ask? You're allowed to, ya know!
Let us know how you're doing, OK?
Peace
